which version are you playing? They seem to alternate it for some odd reason from version to version from insanely sensitive shooting to a little sensitive, the latest is less sensitive (2010). All I can suggest is keep on practising, and you should get it!

Hi,

I was looking for a good football game for the Playstation 2. I already got Winning Eleven 8 (American title) for my XBox
and enjoyed it so went for Pro Evolution Soccer 5 for the Playstation 2 (since I've heard that the 'Winning Eleven' series
is called Pro Evolution Soccer in Europe).

However, I found this game much more frustrating. The shooting mechanism on 'Winning Eleven' was difficult but
on Pro Evolution Soccer it seems impossible. I press the square button to shoot but the gauge goes to the max and
the ball flies over the crossbar. Even if I do a light tap seems to make the gauge go to max. I even tried playing in
free training mode with my team v's the goalie and I couldn't score a goal. I tried all the shooting styles but they don't work.
If you have experience with this game please could you give me hints on shooting.

p.s. I don't know if they fixed it in later versions but I've played matches where the opposition has the ball and I am next to
him and then the computer changes player control to someone futher away. This is highly frustrating.
Also, when I pass the ball to another teammate sometimes the computer will make the recipient player pass the ball straight awayTO THE OPPOSING TEAM arrrrrrg (or empty part of the field). Why HuhHuh
